Day 10

The second hoovering wasn't as painful as the first - don't know if I'm more used to it, or if it was the paracetamol I took on the way there. Either way, it was much better!

Got some new sachets having read some of the recipes on the forum - looking forward to the week. And I've put 8 beads on my bracelet.

8 lbs gone in 10 days! whoop!

Day 9

Still doing well - easier now I've discovered that not everything needs an electric blender - so I'm getting a bit more texture in my food, and not everything is like wallpaper paste.

First weigh in tomorrow. I'm a bit apprehensive, but pretty confident that I've lost some. My trousers feel more comfortable already - must get measured later too.

I've been finding the forum for Alizonne patients useful and inspiring. One lady said she'd bought a bracelet and adds a bead for every Kg lost, so she has a permanent reminder of how well she's doing. Think this is a great idea, and have just bought one as well. Think I'll use silver beads for a stone, and glass ones for a pound (I won't fit enough on otherwise!).

Day 2

Woke up feeling tired and hungry today. have joghurt mix for breakfast and it's like wallpaper paste. I have a banging headache - not sure if it's just a usual headache (I do get a lot of migraines) of if it's from detoxing.
Paracetamol here I come!

Alizonne food

Day 1 today
Breakfast - cinnamon and hazelnut porridge. I think I overcooked it a bit, must try just one minute next time, but it tasted nice, even though it's a bit like wallpaper paste.

Made a quick salad for lunch - not much time today so I haven't had anything that I've had to weigh or any dressing. I know today will be a bit boring, but I'll do some prep tonight.

Tea without milk isn't too bad - I'm sure I'll get used to it. There are also lots of tablets to take (since I'm not getting many nutrients from food and since my liver will process everything so quickly, I will need all the essentials every day). There's also an ampule of salty water, which contains all the trace elements and is a tonic for hair and nails etc. It tastes horrid, but the taste doesn't last.

Peach and mango juice was a bit of a disaster - tasted nice, but I didn't have a jug, so whizzed it in a big mug and it went everywhere! Only managed to save half of it, and there was plastic in the bottom - I think I missed some packaging off my new mixer! Doh!

Soup for lunch (after buying a jug) a bit watery and with powder at the bottom. Will use less water next time. Seems like I spend all day playing tip and pour - measuring water for all these sachets!

Mmm - hot chocolate! feels wrong when it's 20 degrees outside, but I've got air con on, so can pretend it's winter!

Going home to box up some salad and make some veg. Should be a bit easier tomorrow.
I've got a banging headache though - suspect it's withdrawl symptoms, not had much caffeine today. I haven't been hungry though, so that's good.

Alizonne Therapy

I squeezed into a white body stocking and looked like... well, I'm not sure what I looked like - but then I remembered the marshmallow man at the end of Ghostbusters and had the perfect analogy.

The ultrasound tingled and tickled a bit, and it was strange to have a beeping noise in my ears, but it wasn't painful or too bad at all. Then the hoovering began! The LPG (or wobbly-bit-sucking-machine) was quite uncomfortable, especially on my very flabby bits. The pain was very short lived though, the discomfort stops almost as soon as the machine moves on to a different bit of me.

I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually - I might even be able to think of it as a massage and enjoy it! (I hope)

Alizonne

I've decided to try a new diet - having put on over a stone in the last year. A friend of mum's recently lost lots of weight successfully with Alizonne, so I've decided to give it a try.

It's a meal replacement programme, with 5 high protein sachets a day, with a salad at lunchtime and veg in the evening. The treatment also includes ultrasound therapy and a kind of massage to help the skin produce collagen - which should help the skin tighten and reduce any need for surgery to remove loose skin afterwards. This is a concern for me, as I have about 7 stone to lose, so I have a mental picture of a very baggy birthday suit!

Sunday 10 April 2011

Welcome

I've decided to write this blog, as over the last 4 years I've lost 6 stones, using different methods and with a lot of help.

Basically, in August 2007, at 21 1/2 stone, I decided I had to do something about my weight. I'd starting putting on weight when I was about 18, and it crept up slowly - about 7 lbs a year - I can't say I didn't really notice, but I was happy enough so just ignored it.

My first big step was to sign up to the Boots weight management programme. This is a very low fat diet, and includes taking medication (known as Orlistat or Xenical) which helps prevent the digestion of fat.

Over a year, I lost 4 and a half stone, but then I hit a plateau and found it difficult to lose any more. My eating habits had changed dramatically though - my consumption of butter and cream were much lower, and I generally cooked lower fat versions of most things.

For six months I decided to "go it alone" and managed to keep my weight steady. But then I wanted to lose some more.

In June 2009 I joined Slimming World - doing "extra easy" which is about eating lots of fruit and veg and limited amounts of carbs and protein. Some weeks I lost a fair bit - but mostly just a pound here and there, and after a year I'd only lost 1/2 stone.

I then had some health and personal issues, and eating properly wasn't high on my priority list. I completely lost focus, comfort ate, grabbed fast food on the run and ate the wrong things. Nine months later, I'd put on a stone and a half! My trousers got too tight for comfort, but I was determined not to buy bigger (and I didn't have any bigger clothes, I'd got rid of them all!). So, I looked for another alternative for losing the 7 to 7 1/2 stone I wanted to.

And then I heard about Alizonne and thought I'd give it a go.

That was April 2011, and this blog is my journey since then.

I hope you enjoy it.
